    Details
    Late Victorian mourning brooch. Back has an inscribed plate "1929 In Memoriam 1933". Perhaps to honor a deceased child?
    Either garnet or jet. The stones are very dark and set deep so the color comes off more as black rather than red. 4 pearls with one if them eroded away.
    Setting might be low karat gold. I don't think it is brass.
    Measures 35mm by 30mm.
    Other then the pearl, in very good condition.
