Extra Long Vintage Faceted Glittering Art Deco Black Jet Traditional Victorian Mourning Necklace. Condition is Pre-owned. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box.
This is one of two jet necklaces my mother acquired in the U.K.  I don't know whether it is Whitby jet.  I only know that it is beautiful, and breathtakingly long.   It is 45 inches or a smidge over that.
Of the two necklaces, this is the more traditional one in terms of its form.  The beads are uniform in size, faceted and strung together without any spacers or other embellishment. This is the type of necklace Victorian ladies wore as mourning jewelry.
My mother's other jet necklace is also listed, albeit separately.  It has a totally different gestalt.  Each is stunning, in my opinion.
Although often called "black amber," jet necklaces like this glitter and glimmer more like stars.
