Important Historic WWII Era Dress Uniform of British Navy Admiral Caspar Johns

Description

This is a dinner dress uniform ensemble formerly owned by British Admiral Caspar Johns.  Included are the epaulettes, vest, and dress sword belt.
During his early service Admiral Johns was at the Academy from 1916 through 1920 and was later in the Royal Navy Air Service and the wings are displayed on the sleeve.
This uniform was originally tailor made for him in 1939 when he was a Commander and modified as he gained rank.
The epaulettes and sword belt likely date to this earlier period.
He eventually became one of the few Fleet Admirals in the British Navy.
The only negative feature is that the epaulettes have a bit of verdigris.
I acquired this uniform from Roger Steffen Historical Militaria over 35 years ago and Mr. Steffen gave a most flowery description of this uniform ensemble which I repeat here:
Historic British World War II Admiral's Uniform Ensemble, being the personal uniform of British Full Admiral Caspar Johns, Commander of Mediterranean Air Sea Forces in 1945.  Credited with three confirmed kills as a Royal Navy Air Service pilot in World War I.
(Note: I believe this to be inaccurate as Johns was in the Academy during WWI and did not join the Air Service until 1926.  He was on an aircraft carrier and flying as a pilot in the China Conflict in1930 and any flight history more likely applies to this service date.)
Admiral Johns' long and loyal service to the British Armed Forces is well documented.  Tunic being a formal dress pattern of superb quality dark blue wool having two slash front pockets, gilded Navy buttons gold bullion embroidered epaulettes having rich full galloons, bold bullion crescents, and field enhanced by hand worked silver bullion fouled anchor devices.  Cuffs present Full Admiral gold bullion embroidered trim with hand embroidered gold bullion Royal Navy Air Service Pilot's winged badge, having gilded fouled anchor silver center device and King's Crown worked in carmine, red, green, and blue highlights.  Breast presenting bar mounted with eight miniature medals:

British War Medal, 1914-1920, tarnished silver planchet;
British World War I Victory Medal, bronze planchet;
1939-1945 Star, bronze planchet;
Atlantic Star, gilded bronze planchet;
Africa Star, gilded bronze planchet;
War Medal 1939-1945, tarnished silver planchet;
In Defense Medal, 1939-1945, silver planchet.
Interior lining of broadly quilted black ribbed satin.  Interior tailor label dated June 15, 1939 named to Johns.  Name "C. Johns" is partially obliterated but still barely legible.  Uniform complete with vest of matching wool having four gilded brass Navy buttons, side slash pockets, narrow lapels, interior fully lined in white ribbed cotton, vest back of ribbed, polished black satin with adjustment belt.  Set further includes fine officer's dress sword belt of polished black leather having gold bullion embroidered exterior stripes with worsted black woven trim, sword hangers mounted by gilded brass furniture and presenting gold bullion striping in the fashion of waist belt, complete with gold bullion embroidered slide and Naval officer's gilded brass buckle having King's Crown, fouled anchor, and laurel wreath motif cast in high relief. A most historic and important uniform set.
