    Description

    Grateful Dead Backstage Pass : 1981 : Rick Griffin ! G.D. " Skull & Crossbones !! " Art !!! : '81 Spring Tour ! : March 6, 1981 ( 3/6/81 : 3/6/1981 ) - Stanley Theater - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ( PA ) : 1981 Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ( GDP ) - Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) : Very-Rare !!!
Grateful Dead Fans ! ... Rick Griffin Art Fans !! ... & Pittsburgh, PA Fans !!! -- The Grateful Dead at the Stanley Theater ... on Spring Tour '81 !!!  Offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the March 6th, 1981 ( 3/6/1981 ) Stanley Theater Show, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ( PA ! ).  Wow ...  I mean it's the 1981 Spring Tour we're talking about here my fellow Dead Fans, and these were the days still the ' relatively ' early days in the 30-Year Career of The Grateful Dead - where the ability to play smaller & more intimate Venues was still fair game !  And in this rare case, we are talking about The Grateful Dead setting up shop & doing what they do best - delivering some of the best live Rock 'n Roll this Planet has ever seen ... taking it right to the People ! ... at the Vintage & Awesome ! Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh !  And in fact ... this 3/6/81 Show was indeed the Very-Last ! time the Band ever graced this cozy & rustic Theater !  It only happened 3-Times for 6-Shows-Total Ever ! ... 2/7/1969 ( A ) > 2/7/1969 ( B ) > 11/30/1979 > 12/1/1979 > 3/5/1981 > 3/6/1981 - with 3/6/81 being the Last / Final Show.  And, whether the Dead thought they'd be able to come back here and play again ( probably ? ) - there was still a little bit of save the best for last magic, on this G.D. Night !  Though it's pretty tough to top the 12/1/79 Show ( Wow !?!! ) - and both of the '69 Shows are nothing short of " Ridiculous " - through & through ... Both ! of these '81 Shows were nothing to turn the nose up to - as the Band as a whole was " On ! " ... and consistently jumping on the G.D. Live-Magic ! Train !!  I mean cutting right to the chase ... the Jack Straw straight out of the gate is Huge !!  The slide-trades & overall power of the Rooster ! is spot-on, and the Let It Grow > Deal Set-Closer ! is flat-out Mean !!!  Though at times, being '81 & all ... this Show can start to ' sound ' like a Jerry Show - which, it definitely is ... but, quite frankly - the whole darn Band is just all-over this night.  Samson ! blasts out of the gate to ignite Set II ... with a noteworthy & pretty ! ' Roses ' to follow.  Estimated gets deep, as that's where Weir very successfully takes this version - and then Whammo !!! > snap / bang ! right into a Burner ! of Franklin's Tower, and just So-'81 ! in it's class & style.  The Other One is absolutely Explosive ! - courtesy of both Phil ! and Team Rhythm Devils !! ... and the Set Closes-up with a Sugar Mag that Rocks ! the House !!  Don't Ease Me In for the Encore, and that was it for the Stanley Theater & Grateful Dead Love Affair.  As from here on out in Pittsburgh ... it was pretty much ' The Civic ' ( aka. The Igloo ! ) - and one Killer ! Show on Summer Tour '90 at Three Rivers Stadium that was So-Hot ! ... that you very-likely know it best as " View From The Vault I " !!!  One of my favorite Shows ever, as I must say ... Ha !
    And, as far as this 3/6/81 Show goes - the Very-Last! at The Stanley Theater ! ... just an Essential ! Grateful Dead " Skull & Crossbones !!! " Backstage Pass exists to directly represent this Shows Grate-ness ! - the Legendary ! 1979 Art-Design Masterpiece !! of the one & only Rick Griffin !!!  Enjoy this Grateful Dead ! - Rick Griffin !! - Pittsburgh !!! - Stanley Theater !!!! - 1981 Rock 'n Roll Treasure !!!!!  Incredibly-Awesome . . .
