Description

Antique WW1 bayonet w/ leather scabbard. Blade is marked RIA and dated 1918, US 396564. My research indicates that RIA is for Rock Island Arsenal. The blade has been altered, however, my research indicated that some left over from WW1 were shortened for use in WW2. However I do not know if this is true for this piece. I am sure that you, as a collector, have a better idea of its history.
